Kaleiçi & the Cliffs

Legend has it that one day King Attalus II of Pergamon summoned his men and gave them a single command: “Find me paradise on earth.” It is said that after months of roaming from land to land, they finally reached this shore, where the cliffs drop sheer into the sea, and went back crying, “Here is paradise!”… Would you believe paradise could be found so easily? The king certainly did; for he gave this place his own name: Attaleia.
