Anamur & Anemurium

Ask where the southernmost tip of Anatolia is, and many of us would pause over the map for a moment… The answer is Cape Anamur. On clear days, they say, the mountains of Cyprus appear on the horizon. The cape takes its name from the winds here too; the Anemurion of antiquity is a name meaning “windy cape”. So what was life like, centuries ago, on this windy cape at the edge of the sea?
