If you had wished to leave a prayer of stone in a valley a thousand years ago, where would you have placed it? Perhaps by a lake, in the embrace of the mountains, on a slope where only the wind could carry your voice… Rising in the village now called Çamlıyamaç, near Tortum, Öşvank Church is like a thousand-year-old answer to that question.
