Tekirdağ

“I have come to love Rodosto so much that I cannot forget Zágon.” This sentence belongs to the young Kelemen Mikes, who came into exile in the early 18th century with the Hungarian Prince Francis II Rákóczi. Rodosto is today’s Tekirdağ; Zágon, the village where Mikes was born, far away in Transylvania… Few sentences have ever expressed love for one city so beautifully as by being unable to forget another.
