How many countries’ histories can a river carry? The Great Zap rises in the mountains of Hakkari, carves deep valleys on its way south, and joins the Tigris on Iraqi soil. In every bend along the way, it keeps a human story… Though its name takes different forms in ancient sources, the river always follows the same path: from mountains to plain, from plain to the Tigris.
