Have you ever climbed a hill to make a wish? The hill rising in the middle of Ürgüp is named for just that: Temenni, “wish”… Climb it — it can be seen from nearly every corner of town — and look down: first the vineyards, then the fairy chimneys, and on clear days the white crown of Erciyes in the distance; and perhaps, in that moment, you forget what you meant to wish for.
