Erciyes

Have you ever dreamed of seeing two seas at once from the top of a mountain? Strabo, the geographer from Amasya, writes that the few who managed to climb to the summit of Argaios, as Erciyes was known in antiquity, claimed that on clear days they could see both the Black Sea and the Gulf of İskenderun. Was this true, or a little exaggeration from those who reached the top? That we cannot know… But looking at this mountain rising alone to 3,917 meters in the heart of Central Anatolia, you are tempted to believe one could see everything from up there.
