Termessos

In the Iliad, describing the hero Bellerophon’s battle with the Solymi, Homer says it was the fiercest fight he ever fought. The Solymi were a people of the mountains; and for centuries the people of Termessos went on calling themselves by that name, Solymians… So who, centuries later, dared to stand up to the descendants of warriors whom even Homer called “the fiercest”?
