Aspendos

Legend has it that the king of Aspendos promised his daughter to whoever gave the city its most beautiful work. Two master builders competed: one built the arches carrying water from the mountains to the city, the other a theater. When the king climbed to the theater’s top row, he heard a whisper from the stage, right by his ear: “Give the girl to me…” The story goes that the king gave his daughter to the theater’s builder… But can a whisper still be heard two thousand years later?
