Keşiş Mountains & Esence

Why would a mountain be named “Keşiş”, the monk? Perhaps because hermits once lived in seclusion on its slopes, or perhaps because its snow-covered ridges, seen from afar, look like a dervish who has turned his back on the world… The legends vary and which is true is unknown; but everyone agrees that this wall rising north of Erzincan carries a serenity worthy of its name.
