Uzuncaburç

Can a tower give a village its name? In the cool highlands of the Taurus north of Silifke, one village’s answer is written in stone: Uzuncaburç, “the tall tower”. In its center stands a tall, many-storied Hellenistic tower, and the village has been named after it for centuries… So what was a tower watching over among these mountains?
