Iğdır & the North Face of Mount Ağrı

Can a mountain have two faces? It can; and two faces that look nothing alike… From Doğubayazıt, Ağrı is seen from atop a high plateau, beyond a wide plain. From Iğdır, however, an entirely different view awaits: from around eight hundred meters on the Aras plain, a colossal wall rising in a single sweep to a summit above five thousand meters… Anyone who stands before this wall and lifts their head perhaps understands for the first time how big a mountain can truly be.
