Gabriele Salvatores’ Oscar-winning film ‘Mediterraneo’ ends with a dedication: “To all those who are running away.” In the film, a handful of Italian soldiers land on a small Greek island during the Second World War and, after a while, realize that the war has forgotten them… The island where that film was shot is Meis, right across from Kaş. So what kind of shore must it be, that even the war forgot?
